Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson stopped by BUILD recently for a discussion with moderator Kevan Kenney about her career thus far plus offer an intimate acoustic performance of some of her hits.
Best known for her multi-Platinum hits such as “Symphony” with British electronic band, Clean Bandit and “Never Forget You” with recording artist MNEK, the songstress told the audience that now that she’s received so much success so far in her career, she’s “currently living her best life” as an artist.
She cited that travelling while out on tour can get hectic but she’s capable of living the busy lifestyle. One perk Larsson loves is the fact that in her home country of Sweden, there’s no paparazzi bombarding her! She can live a practically normal life.
An extrovert since a very young age, Larsson says that she loves showcasing her vocal talents with the world. She won Sweden’s Got Talent a.k.a. Talang when she was just 10-years-old in 2008. She was always the class clown growing up and would vibe with the crowd’s energies when she performed for them. The stage was naturally her calling!
Fast forward to 2019, the 21-year-old artist is here with new music. She released two new singles so far this year titled, “Don’t Worry Bout Me” and “Wow” respectively. The latter of which has been featured in an Citi commercial. Check it out below!
You can expect more songs to be released this year but for now, Larsson is remaining authentic as an artist and taking her time with making and tweaking these new tracks for her next full album.
“I think we’re very close but I always say I’m not done until I’m done,” Larsson teased.
She added that she does this thing where she starts many songs but leaves them open-ended and unfinished. “I have like a million unfinished really really good ideas. So I got to come down to like finish them…I’ll polish them, make sure they’re good and then we’ll go from there.”
Fans will definitely have to stay tuned for sure for that upcoming third album! Meanwhile, in regards to her fans, Larsson expressed that they are “so nice and compassionate and so supportive” of her as well as being really funny, sharing playful responses online and sending silly roasts of her.
“I see you guys as friends. I really like that dynamic,” Larsson concluded.
