New Music Friday: December 20

Spotify is such a handy streaming platform that they publish a separate weekly updated playlist of all the latest tunes for listeners to enjoy.

This week, no less, has artists like Grammy award winner Jennifer Hudson and Grammy nominated group, OneRepublic dropping their latest singles. Here below are some of my recommendations for you all to listen to this weekend.

“Memory” by Jennifer Hudson

Despite all the recent negative reviews from critics for the movie adaptation of Cats, the song “Memory” sung by the one and only Jennifer Hudson deserves praise and recognition. Give it a listen. I guarantee it will hit you in the feels.

“Wanted (String Mix/TT Spry Remix)” by OneRepublic

This new strings version of “Wanted” is a great jam. I love how OneRepublic focused more on the stringed instruments in this iteration. And if you loved the original, you’ll also appreciate the EDM version in the TT Spry Remix! Looking forward to hearing more from the multi-platinum selling group in 2020!

“Alive” by Daughtry

Into covers? Then check out Daughtry’s cover of Sia’s “Alive” which is a refreshing rock and roll take on the 2015 hit song. Lead singer Chris Daughtry (a.k.a. The Rottweiler) recently came off his 2nd place finish on FOX’s “The Masked Singer” where he sang this song as his final performance. See it here:

“MOTIVES” by kenzie

Kenzie has an upbeat new track with “MOTIVES.” It’s a great motivational and empowering anthem for your next workout routine! The talented singer/dancer choreographed an impressive and intense boxing gym music video accompanied by an all female troupe of strong background dancers. Check it out here:
