“Never Worn White” by Katy Perry

Katy Perry got an early jump on this week’s New Music Friday as she released this song last night at midnight! Fans were surprised and pleased with the revealing news! 2020 is going to be a huge year for the hit maker.

In the above video, she reveals she’s pregnant with her first child with actor and fiancé Orlando Bloom!! She alludes to never wearing white which is symbolic because she will eventually later this year when she weds Bloom, and for the fans a.k.a. the Katycats, KP5 is confirmed with more material to be dropped later this year as she excitedly revealed on her recent Instagram Live on Thursday, March 5th.

Overall, this new single is a beautiful heartfelt ballad. She dons a big bright floral headdress accompanying hundreds if not thousands of colorful flowers flowing from her dress and onto a covered rock as she belts the song confidently. In addition she wears a flowing white dress looking proud and angelic as she caresses her belly later on indicating her first very own baby bump. It’s a scary but bright new chapter in Perry’s life and career as she embarks married life and motherhood later this year. Can’t wait to hear more from Katy this year!

“Gaslighter” by Dixie Chicks

The ladies of the Dixie Chicks are back from an over decade long hiatus with an empowering anthem that alludes to a bad ex in this case it’s lead singer, Natalie Maines’ ex-husband, Adrian Pasdar. They confidently call out his gaslighting, his recurring lies and broken promises of Hollywood as they plea for an apology despite him being “sorry.”

This will be the leading track on their upcoming eighth studio album of the same name. The song itself was co-written and co-produced by Bleachers singer-songwriter, Jack Antonoff. Antonoff has worked with other notable artists like Lana Del Rey, Lorde, St. Vincent and Taylor Swift, which the Dixie Chicks collaborated with backing vocals on her song, “Soon You’ll Get Better.”

You can download and stream the new single now! The new album, Gaslighter is set to be released on May 1st!

“Every Color” by Louis The Child (with Foster The People)

Chicagoan DJs Frederic Kennett and Robby Hauldren, better known by their stage name, Louis the Child, have joined forces with multi-Platinum selling band, Foster the People on this bright, put you in a good mood track!

A perfect choice to listen to on a bright sunny day or for that casual stroll in the park or beachside boardwalk, anything really. “Tryin’ My Best, Los Angeles” by Mandy Moore

Another artist who went on a long hiatus is finally back! It’s singer-songwriter/actress Mandy Moore! Call it a rebirth if you will because Mandy has returned with an ode to L.A. which has it’s ups and downs in life and in her career. It’s encouraging how Moore is returning to music, her true calling in my opinion after a bitter end to her previous relationship with her first husband.

Check out her new album, Silver Landings for a collection of easy listening folk-pop songs. She truly wants us to think about our lives and be joyful at the same time.

“In My Veins” by Lauren Alaina

Country pop sensation Lauren Alaina has released a fun new song that really shows how proud she is of being a country singer and a country girl no matter where she tours or goes in her life.
