BTS: “Permission To Dance” (First Reactions)

BTS‘ world domination continues as the septet have dropped another potential #1 single in “Permission To Dance.” Here below are my first reactions to the song and the accompanying music video.

First Reactions:

0:06 Suddenly I’m craving pancakes! πŸ₯ž

0:23 “Just Keep The Right Vibe” — words we should all live by! Ooo, wonder where that purple balloon is going to go?! 🎈

0:33 The plants look happy to be hearing them sing and play the piano in this cafΓ© setting. πŸƒ

0:52 Cue the impressive well-rehearsed choreography! Such feel good vibes that will make you smile and want to get off your couch or bed and start dancing or bobbing your head! 😁

1:05 The iconic purple balloon is catching eyes and curious onlookers!! πŸ‘€ ☝🏻

1:26 More purple balloons! 🎈🎈🎈 <–wish there was a purple balloon emoji

1:45 I wonder who painted that mural! Props to the designer(s) who created that desert landscape! 🌡

1:57 The dance moves are infectious at this point! πŸ•ΊπŸ»

2:11 FYI: Don’t actually run the washing machines/dryers with balloons. However, they’re cool props for the purpose of the set design. I love how there’s lights inside the machines. 🧺

2:26 I know someone will likely mashup the bridge section of the da-na-na-na’s with “Dynamite’s “dyn-na-na-na’s.” πŸ’

2:33 I enjoy the accompanying strings in this part of the song. 🎻

2:50 Aww…the kids and the purple balloon. πŸ§’πŸ»

2:58 Cool shot of everyone including backup dancers/extras dancing!! πŸ“Ή

3:17 It’s nice to see smiling faces again as noted by the extras pulling down their masks. Of course this moment wouldn’t have been possible without the cooperation of everyone in getting their vaccine shot(s). πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

4:00 I wonder how many takes the kids had to run across the frame of this shot! Cute moment though. πŸƒπŸƒ

4:12 Ooo outakes and behind the scenes moments. 🀠

Final Thoughts:

-We truly have to remind ourselves that we don’t need permission to dance! Sometimes, we need to learn (or re-learn) how to let loose and have fun once in awhile. Don’t stress over the things you can’t control in life or the negativity in the news.

-A great video and song by the guys of BTS once again! They always know how to make an anthem that’s oozing with positivity and if you’re feeling down, definitely listen to this song and add it to your playlists this week!

-Did You Know? Pop singer-songwriter and 4x Grammy winner, Ed Sheeran helped in co-writing the track! The “Bad Habits” artist is no stranger to helping the guys out in creating a hit song. He also co-wrote “Make It Right” back in 2019 for their EP, Map of the Soul: PERSONA.

-The guys will be appearing and performing next week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for two nights – July 13th and 14th, so set your phone alerts, clocks, and calendar reminders for that! See the announcement video here:

-There’s also an instrumental version of the song that’s worthy of listening too! Click here to listen to it on Spotify!

-With “Butter” topping the Billboard Hot 100 charts for SIX straight weeks so far, you can’t help but think that “PTD” will join the charts next week and possibly contend for that #1 spot! What do you all think? Think we’ll see BTS claim the top 2 spots in next week’s Hot 100 charts?!

-Finally, I also expect this song to be added to mainstream radio stations and be used in commercials/or TV show segments such as Samsung phones & America’s Got Talent respectively.
