Salutations to all on this fine Friday, October 29, 2021! This week’s picks are dying to be on your playlists this week! There are simply no tricks, only treats. Check out who made this week’s (mood edition) list…

“Overpass Graffiti” by Ed Sheeran
π Despite breaking up with someone, you can’t help but still remember the good times you shared with one another! This song really works well as an uptempo song with those 80’s influences. Originally it was going to be a slower ballad. Good thing Ed changed the bpm’s on this track.
π Set a reminder on your calendars as Sheeran is still slated to perform in the next new episode of SNL next weekend – November 6th!!
π€π½ Hopefully his COVID symptoms go away by then and he will be clear to perform songs from his latest album, = (equals) including this one.
π Expect this song to receive a lot of buzz on the radio waves and multiple awards shows in the months to come including next year’s Grammy’s telecast!
π Watch the music video to the very end for a funny moment!
“Hyperlandia (Vocal Mix)” by deadmau5 feat. Foster The People
π Sonically speaking, this track by Canadian EDM hitmaker deadmau5 and indie rockers Foster The People felt so cosmic and outer-worldly! Excellent arrangement of beats! Felt very organic and ethereal at the same time.
π This feels great on a long nighttime drive playlist! Or…
ποΈ a song you would play to help you get in a relaxed state before hitting the hay.
π― This collaboration pairing is a win-win! I enjoyed it, hopefully, you felt the same sentiments.
“Telepath” by Conan Gray
π Unlike Ed’s new song, this single from pop star, Conan Gray talks about a sour relationship where you want things to end completely with no chance at remaining friends. You simply just have to roll your eyes at how predictable your ex behaves and reacts post-breakup. While you’ve moved on, they on the other hand want to have a second chance with you. They’re destined to fall into the same mistakes again and mess things up between the two of you. Tread carefully!
π Amazing upbeat vibes from a production standpoint. I love the contrasting sounds running parallel against the sad/tragic verses. It makes for a refreshing song you just got to dance out to. Expect this to be one of those fan favorites among future Conan Gray concert setlists.
“Enemy” by Imagine Dragons & JID
β If you’re feeling like an outcast or an underdog or always under a microscope then this new Imagine Dragons/J.I.D song is right for you! People in your life always seemingly want to work against you. They may appear to be on your side but deep down they treat you like the enemy. Why it’s that way, you may never know. But do stay cautious and stand strong against the adversity and harsh challenges life brings you!
πΊ By the way, this is the leading single off Netflix’s upcoming animated series, Arcane which is set in the League of Legends universe. You can start streaming that on November 6th.
π£οΈ I’m impressed with the speed and flow of J.I.D’s sung rap verses. They definitely hit deep the more you listen to them.
π Love the grittiness in sound and the heavy bass! It complements Dan Reynolds’ voice really well.
“Best Of Me” by Alicia Keys
ππ₯ Love the leading drum beat melody in the song which by the way is a sample of Sade’s 1993 single, “Cherish The Day.” This is a very chill relaxed song that preaches the feelings of complete love and attention in a relationship. It’s suitable for anyone in a relationship that’s seemingly everlasting, strong, and whole! Your love transcends time and space!
π The 15x Grammy Award-winning artist simply slayed the production/vocals on this track. It would be cool to see her perform this song in a future awards ceremony, perhaps at next year’s Grammys?!?
