“The Joker And The Queen” by Ed Sheeran feat. Taylor Swift

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Ed-sheeran-the-joker-and-the-queen-remix-lyrics

What a sweet ballad this collaborative song is!! It’s the fourth time the two pop artists have worked together though it’s the first time on an Ed Sheeran track. The previous three songs were on the flip side of things with Sheeran being the artist featured on Taylor Swift’s songs. See: “Everything Has Changed,” “End Game,” and “Run.”

This song was made for those who feel blessed by their relationship with their significant other or best friend at one point. Even though there are slight odds at one leaving said relationship, at the end of the day, the love you two share will always remain mutual. No real hate, it’s just that time and life move on.

Watching the music video seen above definitely puts you at ease but it’s also an emotionally cathartic song to hear too, might even make you shed a tear or two. I love that they casted these young actors again for the video instead of using Sheeran and Swift. Did You Know? They were part of the “Everything Has Changed” music video! #timeflies

Adding Swift’s amazing vocals on this track enhances the song’s sweetness and structure. I look forward to hearing this song climb the charts in the weeks to come. I also would love for the two of them to perform this at a future music event, maybe the Grammy Awards later this spring?!?

“Patience” by Agnez Mo

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Agnez-mo-patience-lyrics

Feeling like your relationship is going too fast and want to keep things at a slower pace then this soft R&B song is for you from none other than talented Indonesian singer-songwriter, Agnez Mo!

I love how Miss Mo is just vibing out on this track’s music video with her trendy clothing/hairstyles while belting out the song with its vulnerable lyrics. Her style on this new song reminds me of a cross between Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera. Both are powerhouses in the music industry and she’s well on her way to being a mainstream global superstar too!

This song will be the leading track from her upcoming untitled EP project. I look forward to hearing what’s next! How about you?

“Background Music” by Maren Morris

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Maren-morris-background-music-lyrics

Country superstar, Maren Morris compares life on Earth and all of its memories to a finite set of songs. Eventually, our memories will live on as background music for future generations to hear! How poetic and what a lovely soothing song this is! It has a beautiful melody to it. Agreed?

This track is part of her upcoming album, Humble Quest due to release on March 22, 2022! It follows her previously released song and lead single, “Circles Around This Town.” I covered that track a few weeks ago, right here.

Did You Know? 8x Grammy-winning producer, Greg Kurstin produced Morris’ track. He’s also worked with other well-known artists including pop stars Adele, Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, and Halsey just to name a few!

What The Artist Said:

“What, Me Worry?” by Portugal. The Man

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Portugal-the-man-what-me-worry-lyrics

It’s been a hot minute since the guys of the alternative rock band, Portugal. The Man released a new song. But alas, they are back! And they want us to stress less about the world and laugh more with their latest track, “What, Me Worry?”

Did You Know? OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Brent Kutzle helped co-produced this track. Also, hit producer, Jeff Bhasker has a producer credit too. He’s worked with many mainstream artists including fun., Eminem, and Harry Styles just to name a few!

If you loved their smash hit, “Feel It Still” and any (or all) of the tracks from their previous 2017 album, Woodstock, then I feel you will love this new song too! I know I am! I’m definitely looking forward to what they have cooking for us fans when their next album drops later this June!

To more joy in life in 2022! 🙌

By the way, you can catch their first-ever TV performance of this new single when they appear on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! in two weeks, February 23rd!

What The Artist Said:

“Don’t Fade” by Vance Joy

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Vance-joy-dont-fade-lyrics

A strong solid relationship is the focus of this latest single from alternative pop singer, Vance Joy! It’s the first new song for Joy in 2022 and you can expect this to be a part of his upcoming third studio album.

He sings about the bonds he shares with his lover. He wishes they can see what he sees through his eyes and mindset. It’s simply a unique feeling/experience! He heavily relies on his lover through thick and thin and he’s nothing without this person. Very relatable for couples in this day and age too.

Their love will transcend time and he compares it to a light that doesn’t fade away! Yet again, another poetic song this week to add to your playlists! Kudos to Joy’s songwriting abilities for making such a sweet ballad.
