2x Grammy-nominated artist, Demi Lovato, is back in the music spotlight this week as they ushered in this new rock/punk-rock era! See below for my first reactions to their first single, “Skin Of My Teeth.” It’s the pick of the week for Friday, June 10, 2022!

0:08 😮- “Demi leaves rehab again.” Right off the bat, they’re describing their personal life (past addiction struggles) in a powerful song. I appreciate Demi’s pivot back to rocker vibes!
0:27 🙏🏽 😣- While thankful they’re alive, life isn’t easy despite multiple trips to rehab. Their mannerisms in the tub and toward the camera show the emotional/mental tug of war that goes on day to day.
0:44 🩸- Oh my! Blood in the tub for a split second.
0:56 👀 – Again, but with scattered teeth in the sink. If you’re squeamish about these images, feel free to jump ahead a bit.
1:15 😎- I dig the darker wardrobe choices. Matches that guitar well!
1:50 🤘🤘- Cathartic bridge moment!
2:04 😈 Epic takeback of control of one’s life right there! Perfect analogy!

Final Thoughts:
Once again, the vocals are superb! The vulnerability was very palpable all throughout the song/music video!! 👏🏽👏🏽
This song will speak volumes to those experiencing the ups and downs of addiction or any other form of mental health maladies.
