Happy NMF! This week I’m spotlighting Scottish singer-songwriter, Lewis Capaldi’s new single, “Forget Me.” It’s the lead single for his forthcoming untitled second studio album. Check out my first reactions below!

“Forget Me” by Lewis Capaldi
0:05 π – Oof, if you have an ex who dumped you, there can still be lingering pain.
0:26 π£οΈ – Your ex can still bad mouth you and you’re not going to deny the fact that you hurt their feelings.
0:34 π₯Ί – You can take all the bad talk from them but not the fact that they are moving on from you because you have some feelings for them still. #conflicted
0:43 π – So if you’re not ready for them to forget you completely in their life, then this song will speak to you!
1:05 π€ – You can feel the hurt in Capaldi’s vocals when he sings the chorus.
1:33 π – The second verse continues this idea of a second chance plea but also a reality check that this ex-lover isn’t going to change their mind.
1:45 The transition from the pre-chorus to the chorus is π―!
2:24 β€οΈβπ₯ – Bridge hits hard!!
3:21 ππ – Wow! I sense another hit song on the radio for the “Before You Go” artist! This will likely lead to new accolades (another Grammy nom?!?), future television appearances, and performances as we get closer to more details on his second album release.
