“Wrecked” by Imagine Dragons
💔 Pop rock band, Imagine Dragons made an emotional new track that really channels that heart breaking feeling when you split from someone you once loved! It can also apply to couples out there who are taking some time away from each other but haven’t officially called it quits.
😢 and 🤧 these lyrics are pretty intense as illustrated by the animated black and white video of a small sail boat during a storm. IRL, lead singer Dan Reynolds felt the emotional and psychological pain when he temporarily spent time away from his wife, Aja back in 2018. Gladly, they’ve reconciled their differences and can classify themselves as a happy couple once again with four beautiful children. Also, at the time of the separation, Reynolds lost his sister-in-law, Alisha. Her passing has left a huge void in his life and he described that here in this vulnerable and revealing note. So whether it be a temporary separation, divorce or losing a beloved family member, this song will resonate with a lot of people.
😎 I’m excited that the band’s next album finally has a title and release date. It’s going to be called Mercury – Act I and it will drop in two months on September 3rd! With it being just the first act, you can’t but help to wonder how many more acts will get released in the future. Are you stoked for new Imagine Dragons music? Let me know in the comments below!
“Renegade” by Big Red Machine feat. Taylor Swift
😩 and 😤 to describe the frustration and worried feeling of someone in your immediate friendship circle or family who’s suffering from a mental illness. You want to help them out as much as you can, but sometimes that burden will weigh you down. You have to evaluate your own choices and decision making when it comes to living with said person. Do you take the easy way out and say that he/she/they has a problem right in their face and leave them hanging alone to handle it? OR do you methodically ease them into seeking therapy or getting some prescribed meds?!? It’s definitely a delicate path to embark on if you see yourself having to take care of someone with a mental condition.
🙌🏼 to represent my appreciation for the dream team that is… Aaron Dessner, Justin Vernon and Taylor Swift!! They literally make gold each time they collaborate! A winning trio for sure! I expect more Grammy worthy songs in this project’s album which will drop August 27th!
“Way Less Sad (Cash Cash Remix)” by AJR
👍🏼 👍🏼 because EDM group, Cash Cash really made a catchy remix. I wasn’t expecting them to collaborate with AJR. So this was a pleasant surprise!
🖍️ because the OK Orchestra album artwork drawn in the video seen above makes it seem like an adult coloring page. I’m sure professional artists and artsy inspired people will appreciate this aesthetic.
🤩 because AJR is getting more recognition with each passing month and year. I love that “WLS” is getting a boost in promo and it has the potential to be this year’s “Bang!” on the mainstream radio waves.
“Starting Line” by Luke Hemmings
💭 because this first solo song for 5SOS member, Luke Hemmings will have you thinking about your life up to this point but most notably your childhood to teenage years.
🌟 Once you make sense of said past, you can find inner peace with yourself as you embark your young adult years and adult years respectively. Hopefully your sense of confusion or whatever funk you find yourself in eases up and you get some clarity in life moving forward.
😄 I look forward to hearing the rest of Hemmings’ upcoming solo debut album which is titled, When Facing the Things We Turn Away From. It will be releasing August 13th! Are you planning on buying his album? Comment below!
“Dominoes” by Anson Seabra
😔 This is quite a sad song ngl! Anson Seabra has a way with words. The lyrics are very touching to hear.
💔 heartbreak anthem of the summer! If you’ve experienced heartbreak, then you will feel an emotional connection to the song! The person you thought you were in love with dumped you just like they did in previous relationships. This is illustrated best like dominoes falling. Someone else’s heart breaking feeling has now reached to yours unfortunately.
🤗 I hope you have a good support system when you experience heart break this severe. Hug it out with someone you know and love. Time will heal wounds to the soul.
