Stonestreet reprises his role as Duke, the big brown Newfoundland mix dog. Expect more adventures to ensue for him alongside his friend Max, the Jack Russell terrier played by Patton Oswalt this time around.

Max has to acclimate to life with his master’s new son, Liam. “He’s bonded with his child. So now he has a whole other level of anxiety. First he was worried about himself, now he’s worried about this adorable kid,” Oswalt explained.

Max experiences psychosomatic effects which leads him to having to wear a cone which then leads him to going to a farm filled with even more anxiety inducing moments.

Bell returns to voice Chloe in the sequel and you can expect to see more antics from the sarcastic chubby gray cat.

“She gets to basically get inebriated by catnip and we get to see her lose her mind,” Bell told.

Slate’s character, Gidget the Pomeranian returns too and she goes on an undercover mission. “Gidget has to learn how to behave like a cat and that’s very hard for her. She has a totally opposite demeanor,” Slate said.

Chloe eventually puts Gidget and Moynihan’s character Mel, the energetic pug through the test to behave like a cat in a boot camp style of training.

The story line, the tenth entry for Illumination Entertainment is looking to be another comical hit for audiences and you’ll definitely have to see how it all unfolds when you see it for yourselves in theaters. There are some new characters too, including Rooster, an alpha male Welsh Sheepdog played by the legendary actor Harrison Ford and Daisy, a Shih Tzu played by the hilarious Tiffany Haddish.

Later in the interview, the cast divulged in what they thought their pets were up to in their homes when they’re away.

Oswalt guessed that his cat is “probably blogging” while Bell thinks her dogs are likely playing bridge games.

“My dog is a 13-year-old almost blind, almost deaf, only two-teethed diabetic so I think he’s probably asleep but with a great attitude,” Slate revealed.

“I think my dog, Roscoe thinks his job is to entertain me when I’m there so when I leave, he’s like ‘whew, finally I can relax!!'”

Moynihan capped the hilarious responses with his own by saying, “And I don’t have a pet!”

You can check out “The Secret Life Of Pets 2” in theaters starting June 7th!
