For this week’s post, we have five brand new picks for you to go check out! Read all about them below and feel free to tell me which one(s) were your fave(s.) Enjoy!

New Music Friday 06.24.22

“Carolina” by Taylor Swift

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Taylor-swift-carolina-lyrics

πŸ“½οΈ – This is the main theme song to the upcoming movie, Where The Crawdads Sing which releases via Sony Pictures on July 15th! Click here for the full visualizer version.

🚣 – This song has an ethereal sound to it. Perfect vibes for riding on a canoe down South in a marsh, creek, or bayou.

πŸ—£οΈ – I feel this could’ve been part of the folklore/evermore eras seeing how it has folk elements with a sprinkle of some country. Props to Aaron Dessner (Taylor’s co-collaborator on those albums above) for working on this single! Check out Swift’s tweet about the song, here.

“Sharks” by Imagine Dragons

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Imagine-dragons-sharks-lyrics

🦈 ‼️ – Be careful with the people you hang out with or befriend. They might go against you one day and then you’re left stranded, embarrassed, and/or humiliated. Heed the signs early then you might get lucky and avoid future troubles!

βœ‚οΈ – Feel free to cut ties with your fake friends now! You will be better off in the long run!

πŸ„ – In regards to the music video, I thought it was pretty cool seeing lead vocalist, Dan Reynolds surfing across the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas! Sick drone shots too!

πŸ’Ώ – This latest single by the acclaimed rock band, Imagine Dragons, will be part of Mercury Act 2 which drops real soon on July 1st! 18 total tracks will be part of that new record including the previously released track “Bones.” Can’t wait to hear them all real soon! How about you?

“Disaster” by Conan Gray

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Conan-gray-disaster-lyrics

❀️πŸ₯€ – This track by pop star Conan Gray plays into all of the “what if’s” in a relationship. Your mind will likely come up with all the worst-case scenarios and this will in turn cause you to feel anxious and have doubts about continuing in the dating process. Daydreaming may become a persistent habit too!

🀝🏽 – Listeners who will relate and agree to this song the most: Those wary of commitment, those who are skittish when starting a new relationship after severe heartbreak, and those who just don’t see a future whom they can share themselves with.

😎 – I thought it was cool that fellow pop singer-songwriter, Julia Michaels helped co-wrote the tune!

“Left and Right” by Charlie Puth & Jungkook of BTS

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Charlie-puth-and-jung-kook-left-and-right-lyrics

🧠 – Breakups aren’t fun especially if you still have feelings for him/her/them! That’s the case in pop star, Charlie Puth’s latest earworm/collaboration with BTS’ Jungkook!

πŸ’ – Memories of your ex are flooded in your conscience and even in your dreams! Hopefully, a song like this cool collab will soften that heartbreak pain!

πŸ‘‚πŸ‘‚ – I love Puth’s producer mindset when he sang his vocals isolated to the left ear and then the right ear in the lyrics, “I can feel you over here, I can feel you over here.” I thought that was a smart execution!

“Hang Around” by Echosmith

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Echosmith-hang-around-lyrics

πŸ€— – If you’ve found your soulmate in life, add this song to your playlists and dedicate it to one another! If not soulmate, a newfound friendship will also apply!

πŸ’― – This song by Echosmith exudes feel-good vibes! If you loved any of their previous songs/albums, this too will surely delight your ears! It’s a 100 in my books!

🎡 – I’m looking forward to hearing more songs from the talented trio as we get closer to a third studio album! But for now, this one will be on repeat for me along with their 2020 record, Lonely Generation which deserves more airplay in my opinion.
