New Music Friday: Week Ending September 18, 2021

Check out this TL;DR edition of my mood edition series for New Music Friday (sorry it’s a day late! πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…) These are the five songs that I’ve selected this week, scroll on down to read all about them!

New Music Friday: 09.17.21

“Wildest Dreams” (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Taylor-swift-wildest-dreams-taylors-version-lyrics

βœ”οΈ add another song to the master recordings list that Taylor Swift rightfully owns! This song came as a surprise to fans yesterday as this wasn’t on anyone’s radar for release. Everyone was preparing for the Red TV era to begin later this fall. It’s refreshing to hear this nostalgic 2014 classic again in 2021.

Check out Miss Swift’s announcement post here:

πŸ”Š I don’t know about you but I felt the vocals in the newer version were crisper and more refined than the previous version.

“Chin Music For The Unsuspecting Hero” by Foster The People

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Foster-the-people-chin-music-for-the-unsuspecting-hero-lyrics

πŸ™Œ to this original Torches deep cut track that’s finally being released to streaming platforms in anticipation of their 10th anniversary re-release album, Torches X.

πŸ˜ƒ This is such a nice jam that makes me feel like it’s 2011 again. Simpler times. Will definitely be playing this song a lot on my rotational playlists this season and beyond!

πŸ₯Ί This is a song for those who feel like they got no luck or support in life. You have to fight for everything you got without any help! An uphill challenge for sure!

“Who’s In Your Head” by Jonas Brothers

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Jonas-brothers-whos-in-your-head-lyrics

πŸ€” For when you question your lover’s mindset. Are they fully committed to you like you are to them?!? It really makes you think and have some skepticism about them.

😌 The song’s nice chill pop sound was made by none other than pop masterminds themselves, Shellback and Max Martin. They really know how to make music for a wide variety of artists and offered what I see as the Jonas Brothers’ next big hit!

“Call My Name” by Lukas Graham

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Lukas-graham-call-my-name-lyrics

☎️ If you ever feel alone, there’s always someone out there in your inner circle (or even outer circle) who can talk it out with you. Just reach out!

πŸ€— This slow jam song feels like a nice warm hug! Definitely will spark those hand swaying moments in concert when the band performs it live!

πŸ’ This could’ve easily been an Ed Sheeran song in my honest opinion. This single has similar vibes and styles.

πŸ₯³ Happy birthday Lukas!! He turns 33 today 9.18.21!!

“Bittersweet” by Francisco Martin

Lyrics unavailable at the time of this post being published.

πŸ°πŸ’” I love Francisco’s creative vision for this song and music video about heartbreak!

Check out his IG post describing the latest single and what it means to him.:

πŸ˜– If you’re in a complicated relationship right now, I feel like this song will resonate a lot with you! There’s frustration, sleepless nights, and a whole lot of confusion in this time period.

πŸ™πŸΌ Best wishes to every single one of you feeling this way and I hope you can work things out in the long run with your relationship!
