“I hate love” by Kelly Clarkson feat. Steve Martin

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Kelly-clarkson-i-hate-love-lyrics

Award-winning singer-songwriter & talk show host, Kelly Clarkson continues to tease her upcoming tenth album, Chemistry with this single called “I hate love” which features the incomparable Steve Martin on the banjo!

This uptempo song preaches to the choir about the frustrations of being in love and how it doesn’t live up to its expectations. Like why do you still love this person and why do you continue to be in this relationship?!!?

I thought it was a nice nod to the Grammy-winning actor in verse #2 with, “So you can keep Gosling and I’ll take Steve Martin.” I wonder what he thought about that line when he first heard the song in the recording studio.

Highly recommend you all to hear Kelly’s previous tracks that were released from Chemistry (out June 23rd) by reading my coverage: “mine/me” and listening to “favorite kind of high.”

What do you think of this new jam? Comment below!

“Self Destruction Mode” by The Chainsmokers & bludnymph

Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers have enlisted rising vocalist, bludnymph to their latest track, “Self Destruction Mode.”

This song embraces the flaws and sins one might possess in life. There are no apologies needed. You simply don’t care and want to continue living life as you like. Some might even connect to this song and view it as a middle finger to the haters as no one can match your work ethic in your eyes.

Musically speaking, this carefree mentality matches the rising beats and the epic beat drop becomes a smattering work of art. I thought it was very catchy and well-produced! I can’t wait to hear more from the duo as they slowly unleash the TCS5 era! The trippy, futuristic-looking amusement park-themed music video seen above has nifty aesthetics.

“UP” by David Archuleta

Lyrics: https://genius.com/David-archuleta-up-lyrics

American Idol fan-favorite, David Archuleta returns to the music scene with his brand new single, “UP.” It follows last year’s jovial, feel-good single, “Faith In Me.”

In “UP,” Archuleta bravely shares with the world that he hit rock bottom and despite all the self-doubts he had, he kept fighting and striving for a better today!

Sonically, this song will give you chills, comfort, and inspiration for when you have bad days in life. The lesson he hopes listeners will take away from the song is that you must keep your head up during these down periods whether it be personally or professionally. Channel out the hate, and practice more self-love!

“Sour” by Echosmith

The Sierota sibs are back with their fourth new single from their forthcoming third studio album era! In “Sour,” we get the soul-crushing vibes of a long distance relationship being illustrated. Not many times you’ll get to be with your relationship and when you’re miles apart it can feel like sour lemons.

I love the arrangement of this song. Sydney’s breathy vocals will transport you into a world filled with no stress, and the commanding instrumentation makes a lasting impact on the listening experience.

As always, I can’t wait to hear more from the trio this year! Their self-titled third album will be coming out on July 28th!

“Lily” by Francisco Martin

Singer-songwriter, Francisco Martin returns with his new single, “Lily” following fan favorite, “Passenger Princess” released earlier this year.

This track is really mellow and soulful. Great to listen in a coffee shop, cafe, in transit, or in the comforts of your own home.

Lyrically, it’s a plea to one’s lover for forgiveness, and or for patience as you rectify any personal pains or issues you may be experiencing right now. Hopefully, heartbreak doesn’t happen to you but if it does, this song will give you some solace.

Be sure to check out his instrumental “sleepwalk” here. Very chill vibes! At the 1:03 mark, it sounded like it was going to pivot into “Hallelujah.

Also be sure to check out the singles he wrote for this year’s American Idol winner, Iam Tongi, and 3rd place finalist, Colin Stough.
