Happy MDW 2023 to those celebrating and observing the long weekend. And if not, happy Friday nonetheless! This week is jam-packed with brand-new music from global pop superstar Taylor Swift, pop band OneRepublic, rocker Demi Lovato, pop-rock group Plain White T’s & alternative artist, Tame Impala.

“Snow On The Beach” by Taylor Swift (feat. More Lana Del Rey)
The Swifties truly have much power and say over what we want from mother herself, Miss Swift. When we ask for more Lana Del Rey in “Snow On The Beach,” we get more Lana Del Rey in “SOTB.”
As part of The ‘Til Dawn Edition of Midnights which is out now, we get to transform ourselves into this peaceful world once more! Perfect for listening before bedtime, while on a long car ride, or just casually listening in the living room with your favorite hobby, activity, or meal.
Now that Lana gets to sing a second verse and is given more vocal time, this song gets more depth to it than the original version. This newest version has a more cohesive blend to it in my opinion. What do you all think? Comment below!
Also, be sure to check out “Hits Different” (the former Target exclusive CD track), and the newest iteration of “Karma” featuring rising artist, Ice Spice.
With her Eras Tour hitting East Rutherford, NJ this weekend, ticketholders there will get the opportunity to buy The Late Night Edition of Midnights at the merch stand which will contain a brand new vault track called “You’re Losing Me.” Hopefully, it will later get released on digital streaming platforms soon.
Check out her online merch store for all other items, here.
“RUNAWAY” by OneRepublic
The vibes are amazing on OneRepublic’s latest single, “RUNAWAY.” If you need motivation to seize the day, this video will do that for you!
The band travels a lot while out on tour, and having the official music video showcase so many locales outside the U.S. is quite breathtaking to watch! From rural to urban life, there are so many possibilities to fit in every 24 hours, 7 days a week, 12 months a year, and so forth!
Where do you want to go today? Comment below with your planned destinations, or spontaneous adventures!
“Cool For The Summer” (Rock Version) by Demi Lovato
Pop rock musician, Demi Lovato returns with the re-recording of her 2015 hit, “Cool For The Summer” which is now produced in a rock arrangement! The pounding drums are more pronounced in this version and you can hear the intensity in Lovato’s vocals up to an 11!
It’s quite the epic re-release if I do say so myself. I love that she’s reimagining her old hits into rock versions. This one follows “Heart Attack (Rock Version)” which dropped two months ago.
If you recall, she performed it for the first time at last year’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball concert. Once I heard it then, I knew she had to drop the studio cut eventually and here we are! Share how you feel about this iteration in the comments below!
“Happy” by Plain White T’s
This song should be a PSA for those feeling down in the dumps. Just choose happiness and life will have more clarity in it!
That might still be tough for some, but perhaps this song will brighten up your day a bit more than before you pressed play on this track.
I love how they superimposed the bright yellow smiley faces onto the faces of the people in the lyric video seen above. Check it out for yourselves and comment below on how excited you are for a new PWT era!
“Retina Show” (Unreleased Demo) by Tame Impala
Let your ears transcend space and time with an unreleased demo from Tame Impala’s acclaimed second studio album, Lonerism, which celebrates its 10th anniversary!
Love the instrumentals on this track by the way. Kevin Parker’s vocals just melt all the day’s stress away!
It feels like I’m floating in an outer space video game world!
Also, be sure to check out the other new unreleased demo, “Sidetracked Soundtrack”, here.
