Happy New Music Friday for September 16, 2022! This week we have the latest tunes coming to you from pop stars Charlie Puth and Carly Rae Jepsen, rising singers Daya and Noah Cyrus, and last but not least electronic music icons Armin van Buuren and Gareth Emery featuring Owl City!!
Scroll on down to read all about them! 😁

“I Don’t Think That I like Her” by Charlie Puth
😐 – If you’re dating someone and you have a gut feeling they’re not going to be THE ONE in life, then it’s best for both parties to move on. You have to be honest and let them know first. Hopefully they’re understanding because you don’t want your heart broken (again).
✋ – This is the fifth single to be released before his highly-anticipated album, CHARLIE out October 7th! Check out my previous coverage on “Left and Right” & “Light Switch.” Which track from the new era is your fave so far? Comment below!
🥁 – Epic drumming courtesy of Blink-182’s Travis Barker!!
Watch Puth’s IG reel seen below! He explains some of his arrangement decisions!
“Talking To Myself” by Carly Rae Jepsen
😂 – If you feel like you got the last laugh in a relationship, then this latest single from hit pop artist, Carly Rae Jepsen will be enticing for you to add to your playlists this week!
📷 – I commend the “Call Me Maybe” singer-songwriter’s showcasing of her confidence and sassy demeanor in front of the cameras for the above visual video! How about you?
😈 – May your ex feel regret/remorse for breaking up with you!
📝 – This is the third official single from her forthcoming sixth studio album, The Loneliest Time, releasing October 21st! It follows the previously released singles, “Western Wind,” and “Beach House.” Check out her thoughts on the new track, here:
“See You In My Dreams Tonight” by Daya
💤 – Dreams post-breakup can be very vivid to the imagination! If you’ve broken up with someone regretably later on, then this song will speak to you by talented singer-songwriter, Daya!
🎤 – Her vocals remind me a little bit of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream era. Very similar in style. Love the uptempo beats and arrangement of this song!
🎼 – This song is part of her new 4-track EP, In Between Dreams out today! I hope to see a full album evolved from this sound. I highly recommend you hear the other three tracks, “Love You When You’re Gone,” “New Romantics,” and “Her.”
“I Just Want A Lover” by Noah Cyrus
💓 – Everyone deserves love! Rising artist, Noah Cyrus emotionally vocalizes about wanting a genuine relationship. She’s tired of hoping and waiting. She’s sick of fake love and fake relationships, where the love isn’t reciprocal. Single folks will be the ones who will relate to this song the most.
💿 – This song is part of her debut studio album, The Hardest Part which is out today! Definitely check it out because I have a hunch that this will lead to her becoming a mainstream artist one day as well as receiving multiple award noms/wins! Hello, Recording Academy, I hope you’re listening to this amazing record!
“Forever & Always” by Armin van Buuren & Gareth Emery feat. Owl City
🌟🌟🌟 – This week’s EDM pick goes to none other than acclaimed artists, Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery & Owl City! I know the song is a month old now, but I just discovered it today and I wanted to add it to this week’s picks list anyway! More ears need to hear this track! If you love EDM or dance pop music and Owl City’s previous work, then you’re in luck! This song has both! The lyrics will connect well to those feeling grateful for the lover in their life!
🏃 – Great for exercising playlists, your next party playlist, raves, silent raves, and morning wake-up pump up jam sessions!
💯 – Get yourself motivated for the day and play this song today! The extended mix is twice as fun!
