“This Is Why” by Paramore

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Paramore-this-is-why-lyrics

ðŸĪ – The wait is finally over! It’s the return of Paramore!! In their new song “This Is Why,” for the new album of the same name, the band wants to silence their critics. If you have nothing good to say, keep your mouth shut! And if you do have the audacity to say it, you can just shove it!

ðŸŽļ – That bassline is so catchy! Likewise, the chorus! I really dig their latest sound and I can’t wait to see where we go from here as we get closer to their February 10th sixth studio album release next year! I hope to hear an acoustic version of this single one day, either an official recording or live in concert!

ðŸ“ļ – I like the cinematography choices. Secluded scenery and the beauty of natural environments.

📚 – I can totally see a Sesame Street version of this song one day! For the letter ‘Y’ of course!

ðŸĪŠ – Two bands have done the smooshed faces aesthetic this year. The first was AJR, seen here in “I Won’t.” Now Paramore has done it for the cover of their new album! Click here to get the new merch/bundles!

“Celestial” by Ed Sheeran

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Ed-sheeran-celestial-lyrics

😎 – This is a cool collaboration that I didn’t see coming! The Pokemon Company joins forces with the 4x Grammy winner!

ðŸŽĻ – I love the animation done for this music video! Some of the Pokemon featured in the video include Pikachu, Eevee, Mew, Mewtwo, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Lapras just to name a few!

ðŸĨ˜ – The feast on this table is making me hungry right now!

↕ïļ – This song talks about the highs and lows of a romantic relationship. If you’re experiencing a long-distance relationship right now, this will really hit your core!

ðŸ‘ū – The song is slated to appear in the upcoming game, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet – releasing November 18th!

“uh oh” by Tate McRae

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Tate-mcrae-uh-oh-lyrics

ðŸ‘― – I like how the song starts off with this futuristic/outer space vibe!

😈 – This song deals with temptations when you know there will be consequences later on. You lose self-control and basic morality when you get yourself into situations like this. Examples: Drunk hookups or bad-influenced relationships but still amazing emotional connections.

ðŸ—Ģïļ – Vocals on point once again by the rising pop artist! The outro is very ethereal!

“Charlie Be Quiet!” by Charlie Puth

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Charlie-puth-charlie-be-quiet-lyrics

ðŸĪŦ – I like how there’s a lowered voice part of the song then it gets louder when he transitions into rock territory.

ðŸ˜ģ – Sometimes you have to restrain yourself from embarrassing yourself in front of your crush or else risking your potential match!

ðŸ˜ķ – Sometimes talking to yourself and planning your next move is better than blurting out the wrong things to the one you’re pining. I feel like this song was designed for awkward, quirky/ or introverted listeners.

“Can We Pretend That We’re Good” by Daniel Seavey

Lyrics: https://genius.com/Daniel-seavey-can-we-pretend-that-were-good-lyrics

ðŸĨš – This is the debut single by Why Don’t We member, Daniel Seavey as a solo artist. In “Can We Pretend That We’re Good,” he sings about an ex and how he wants a second chance to be with her again. He knows he messed things up and he’s even offering her to take out her frustrations out on him.

👏👏 – I like the distortion effects used at 0:25. Very trippy and can represent that heartbreak feeling to a T.

ðŸŽļ – The rock sound that this song takes is very cathartic and shows the remorseful demeanor the song is trying to evoke in its message. Some of the sonic elements remind me of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever.” Overall, I’m looking forward to hearing more from his debut album or EP which is still in the works. I have a good feeling he’s going to impress listeners all around the world!
